I was just taking a look and I was like, how in the hell is it so dark in here? And then I kind of figured it out at the last moment. Anyways, we're broadcasting live from the safety FM studios in Orlando florida. Uh just in case you did not know that. Good morning to the couple of peeps that are out there already this morning. So thank you for coming out first thing in the morning and hanging out with us and then we're also hanging out at our sister station, you know, the people over there, you're being infiltrated Rio big. Oh, so as we do the things that we do, we talk about the things that are going on inside of the world, and the news and the news in the world, and all that kind of fun stuff. So don't don't worry because that's not gonna change. But let's talk about some things that were trending this morning. So let's talk about this relatively quick episode. Oid um if we can, so let's talk about this to friends were floating in waist deep water near a shore in Pensacola Beach when they were surrounded by sharks. Yeah, you heard me correctly. So you'll, if you're on the radio or on the podcast, you'll hear it. But if you're hanging out on the video feed, well, you'll get to see a little bit more than most would be able to. So I'm going to show you what the video looks like. Uh that way we can kind of hang out and do that thing. So take a, take a view. Take a view here. They're coming in truck. Mhm. Hey, that's coming in. Get Yeah, let me get Casey and those on that. Damn right, Okay. Hell there's 3 1, 4. Yeah, y'all stop. Damn. Yeah, just stay up. So as you can tell definitely, you can call it an experience of a lifetime. Just not a lifetime of an experience that I would like to have. So there you go. Um some interesting stuff there right away. But here's the thing, why is it that when people put out a video or record a video? Of course, I understand the first thing that you're gonna freak out because as this kind of the normal aspect of it, but your, you know, your your voice over or your vocal track talking over everything the hell is going on. Well, that could become quite interesting depending on how the setup is. But it definitely um yeah, check out the experience of a lifetime in Pensacola Three sharks, waist deep water tells you how far those things can go now. Keep in mind, those things are few and far between as we do talk about them. So just keep that in mind as we do proceed for it. So let's do what we normally do on this lovely episode today. And let's bring you into our friends that feature story news and let them talking about the feature and the story and the news. And isn't that, I think that's it. Right. Isn't that it? Oh yeah, that is it. What the hell am I thinking here? Yeah, let's move forward. Here is the news on the safety show, feature story news in London. I'm christians. Us President joe biden has arrived in the UK for the first time since his election. He will play a key part in this weekend's G seven summit and says his focus is on restoring America's alliances with european countries. John beaver reports from cornwall, England Boris, johnson has never met joe biden personally and politically they certainly have their differences. But the UK prime Minister and US President have much to discuss Northern Ireland will be a key topic. There's a huge amount still to be done on post Brexit trade deals and the US have said they won't support anything that puts the good friday peace agreement at risk. Mr biden is in the UK ahead of the G seven summit being held in cornwall. A massive police and security operation is now underway in this normally peaceful corner of England building back better from the pandemic, strengthening economic and trade ties and tackling climate change will all be on the agenda. The world's largest meat supplier, JBs USA says it's paid the equivalent of $11 million in ransom to hackers that forced the company to shut down its beef plants. Us correspondent kate Fisher Reports, JBs was forced to temporarily halt production at its plants following the cyber attack that affected servers in North America and Australia. A week ago, the company said the ransom was paid in Bitcoin after most of its facilities were back online. The chief executive said it had been a very difficult decision but that they felt they had to pay to prevent any potential risk to their customers. The FBI has attributed the hack to a Russia linked group. It's part of a wave of ransomware attacks in which companies are hit with demands for millions of dollars in order to regain control of their operating systems Kate Fisher Washington, at least 11 people, including eight Children, have died following the collapse of a residential building in Mumbai. Rescue operations are underway amid fears that people are still trapped in the debris And companies in Hong Kong are offering a host of prizes and lucky draws to incentivize the public to get vaccinated against COVID-19 richard Kimble has this from Hong kong. So far there are more than $15 million worth of prizes up for grabs for vaccinated Hong kong residents. They include a brand new million dollar apartment at Tesla car gold bars, an annual free travel pass on cruise ship holidays and even a party on a privately chartered Airbus flight. Hong kong's chief executive, Carrie Lam, says she's written to more than 100 big business is appealing for help to incentivize the public to sign up to the city's free vaccination program. More than three months into that program, less than 20% of the population are fully inoculated health experts say. A lack of trust in government concern over vaccine safety and the overall low number of virus cases in the city are making many people reluctant to take a jab from bureaus worldwide. This is With the spotlight. I'm Simon marks looking in more detail today at the upcoming G7 summit to be hosted by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson in Cornwall for President Biden. Now in the UK, the summit serves as a huge opportunity to rebuild international alliances and _ America's commitment to the principle of multilateralism. After four years of Donald trump's leadership in which that was thrown into doubt. PJ Crowley was Assistant US Secretary of State in the Obama administration. I'm guessing there actually will be a leader statement that the president knighted states will not refuse to sign onto. The tone and texture of this meeting will be much different than they were over the past four years. Joe biden is a is a determined internationalist, obviously is going to look after the interests of the United States just as Boris johnson will look after the interests of the United Kingdom, but I think he recognizes that you get more done by playing nicely than you do by going off the rails as the as his predecessor used to do. No question, there will be a difference in tone, but President biden will also have to persuade the international leaders he's meeting over the next week that american democracy is secure and his own type of multilateral worldview is back in the oval office to stay with the spotlight. I'm Simon Marks to recap our top stories, Joe biden has arrived in the UK for the first time since his election and will play a key part in the G seven summit, The world's largest meat supplier, JBs. USA says it's paid $11 million 11 people, including eight Children, have died following the collapse of a residential building in Mumbai. And companies in Hong Kong are offering a host of prizes and lucky draws to incentivize the public to get vaccinated against COVID-19. That's the latest feature story news chris jones reporting. This show is almost as enjoyable as hearing the sound of the toilet flush rated r safety show on safety FM. So, what exactly is enjoyable about uh, hearing the sound of the toilet flush. Anyways, it is 15 minutes past the top of the hour as you and I are hanging out on this lovely thursday. Yeah, it is, thursday. So, let's get into it. Let's start talking about what's going on inside of the world in the news. So, here's how it goes, just in case if you're new to this thing, it goes something like this. We brought in some professional broadcasters, they talked about what they had to say. I bring in some news now on what we've kind of found inside of the world. And then from that particular point, I give you my God Bush of what I'm thinking. And then we talk a little bit about safety. We talk about some main stories and all that kind of fun stuff. Anyways, the U. S. Coast Guard in Alaska rescued three people and two dogs who were pushed out to sea on an inflatable pink flamingo. Yeah, that's not a joke. The rescue went down in monos copy which leads to the gulf of Alaska near kodiak due to somewhat treacherous conditions. The U. S. G. C. G. Used a helicopter to hoist the trio and dog to safety or dogs plural. Uh, the stranded group was celebrating the 60th birthday party. Something tells me that the 31st birthday party will be much different than this particular one. Oh, mortal kombat down. Okay, chad day bill, husband of Colt Mom, Lori Val Oh, pleaded not guilty to eight felony counts, including three counts of first degree murder. Yesterday day Bell and Val Oh were indicted late last month in connection with the death of values to Children Joshua Vallo entirely. Ryan 17 The Day Bell former wife, 49 year old tammy tammy Day Bell, I'll tell you, I've been looking up on this news story quite a bit. It's quite intriguing some of the stuff going on there. Meanwhile, Val Oh, who, uh, judge determined lacks fitness to proceed has been uh, committed to an Idaho department of health facility where she will remain for up to three months. The move brings a temporary halt to the proceeding for murder, conspiracy, and grand theft charges against her according to court papers. I'll, but I'll tell you, I think it's either 2020 I know 2020 has won. Uh, Dateline has one and so does 48 hours all about this particular one. Full episodes dedicated to this monstrous stuff that is occurring now. Here's the interesting part because we have to talk about it. People are presumed innocent until they're found guilty, not guilty until their presumed innocent. So I mean it's some interesting stuff, uh, some very important info that are given in all of these docks, but you have to take a look at it and kind of make your own determination. Now keep in mind the court of public opinion is always something. But until somebody actually gives their opinion, jurors in this case, not really much can be said. Just think about it for me for a moment. It's kind of unfair to make the assumption that automatically that hey, you got some issues without actually knowing exactly what's going on now. That's of course an opinion statement because that's what I just did. So keep that in mind as you proceed following down that rabbit hole, What did she just say? We have safety. Don't always agree with the viewpoints of our husband guests. Now back to real safety talk on safety. FM. Okay. There has been more than 90 shootings along Chicago's area expressway so far this year 221 shootings on such railroad. Since January 2020, according to the Illinois State Police, There have been 93 total shootings along Cook County's area expressway as of June seven. And only three arrests have been made in 221 reported, uh, since the start of 2020, according to state police. So when you hear this and you hear about all this gun violence, um, what comes to mind? And I'm asking a legitimate question here, and I'm not gonna be like, so do you think we should get rid of guns? Should we get rid of the amendment right to carry? I mean, nothing, nothing about that. But what do you think is going on here? And like now, let's keep in mind too. I understand people have been locked up, I understand things have changed, I understand that the world has been much different over the last little bit, but jesus, I didn't go out and after being in the pandemic mode and being in isolation, I didn't say, hey, let's go out there and start thinking about who we can shoot. But it is crazy when you start hearing about these numbers. I mean, think about it for a moment, because this goes back into, yep, you know where I'm going to go here. Uh the hazard matrix thing, how do you plan for the unexpected? It's like what is the possibility of occurring? I mean, your hazard matrix, if you're in Chicago in particular as of late has to sound much different than what it did anywhere else because of everything that's going on now. Hey, that's my opinion, um, in that particular regard, but something to think about as you're looking forward into this. So I don't know how do you start planning for this? Especially if you work in that area. Anyway, let's continue talking real quick. Major retailers are already planning for the holidays. Best Buy announced that they will keep their stores closed on Thanksgiving Day. Well, thank God for that one because that was a shitty situation where you were opening on thanksgiving and say, hey, you have to cut it short because you need to get your ass here to work, which is kind of a dick move. But good to hear. The best buy has changed that. I still have a love for Best Buy. I'll tell you a lot of the S. O. P. Stuff that I have ever learned. Uh when I first learned, I should say came from that store, great retailer at the time. Uh the news follows competitor wal mart who said that they will have their stores closed for november 25th Holiday Target announced that they will be closed for the holiday um, early, um, earlier this year. So I don't know if people are jumping on the bandwagon or they just came to the conclusion of what the freak were you thinking? Yeah, it said freak just in case I didn't want to take it a little bit too far this time. Safety in a way. Never heard of before. The grated safety show on safety is in so take a listen to this. This is coming out of Houston. Houston based hospital has suspended 178 employees. Yeah, suspended 178 employees without pay for two weeks for refusing to get the coronavirus vaccine. An internal message obtained by the Washington Post states that nearly 25,000 of the health care system employees were fully vaccinated by Monday's deadline, but some chose not to comply. One nurse told the outlet that she has rejected the shot because vaccines authorized for emergencies use have not been fully approved by the FADA. In response to unvaccinated employees. Hospital Ceo David Bernard said 100% vaccination is more important than the individual freedom. Hey, now everyone of you is replaceable, Wow, that's some strong words. So let's make sure that we get that name correct. One more time. Ceo, David Bernard, Yeah. David. Bernard said 100% vaccination is more important. That more important that your individual freedom, every one of you is replaceable. I don't care if you agree or disagree with what your team members are doing. You saying that is totally a dick move. I mean think about it, it's just straight. But think about this real quick. We talked about this a few weeks ago. I mean we've been probably talking about it for a few months at this point where we started noticing that people were changing inside of the inside of the system and they started saying that you had to have the vaccination to be able to return to work or you have to have the vaccination by X date. So now we are talking about this and now we're taking a look at this that we're seeing people fulfilling it. I mean, this is making news stories of course. Now the question coming in by jim puzzle is is he replaceable? Well, one would make the assumption that he is. But it's interesting when we start looking at that because it should be validated when you're looking at emergency release that it should be based on your choice. Mhm. Is suspension the right way? I don't know. But you have to go based on individual cases on how it applies to you. Because if it's right for me or not right for me, that's my choice because it's an emergency release. I think that's fair. But should you be forced by your employer to have it, that's going to become the question. And then how much does it change when it goes to fully approved by the FDA? Which we're starting to see now people applying for fully approved by the FDA and not emergency. What's going to happen then? Do you think that there will be some justification then? Because here's what I want you to think about. I will tell you, especially if you're in the US of a taking a listen to this. Some of the schools elementary through high school are going to be requiring this as you return back to school. If your Children return to school that they will have to be fully vaccinated based on the county. Now, is it a fair assumption if it's still under emergency release, think about it or do you think that it should qualify? Like other vaccinations do qualify if it's fully workers police and approved by the FDA. That's some stuff you're going to have to think about and some difficult choices will have to be made going forward depending on how you're looking at it. Some people are fine with the emergency release of the vaccines. That's your choice. But some people are not okay with it. But you have to look at this too. If you're working for an employer where you do not agree that you have to have the emergency release version of the vaccination. There are saying that there are so many jobs that are currently available that are out there. So you have to make that determination on what you wanted to. But I feel that I'm saying this and I'm preaching to the choir and I shouldn't be preaching because that's not what I do. That was years ago when I did that. But seriously you have to give this some serious consideration and I know I'm kind of going along on this one, but I think it's important. Dick move on what he's saying, number one, don't care how you put it, you could have worded that much better, but also at the end of the day, these are probably things that we're going to start seeing more and more of. I mean we're already we're already having the conversation now. We're seeing it now. It's making national and local news outlets. So what happens next? That's going to be the interesting part. What did she just say? We have safety. FM. Don't always agree with the viewpoints of our hosts and guests. Now back to real safety talk on safety. F Okay, four people are dead after four separate shootings in Kansas city earlier this week. For the first shooting, which Left about left a 15 year old dead took place near an elementary school, the second, which occurred two hours later near a playground filled with families. Also left a 15 year old dead. Later, the male gunman approached the victim on the street and opened fire. The victim was taken to a local hospital but died shortly there after half an hour later, two men were shot. One was treated at the hospital for non life threatening injuries while the other scrambled uh, to succumb his injuries. Um, in response to the bloodshed, Mayor Quinton Lucas tweeted my thoughts are with the victims region wide. We can't keep just doing the same thing. So I don't know what that means. We can't just keep doing the same thing. So what's the plan? Their Mayor Quinton Lucas believe me not justifying any kind of shots of any, anyone, any person, any child or so on. But what are the plans? That's gonna be the next portion we need to talk about Always we've been tracking this news story I think for some time now. Yeah, maybe. So uh Jasmine will be jasmine hearten will be able to go home to her four year old twins as she awaits prosecution in the shooting of death of police police officer. The social light who has been charged with manslaughter by negligence in the death of the same path as Superintendent Henry Jamaat Has granted bail of about $15,000. Yesterday after the judge rejected the prosecution's argument that she is a flight risk. As part of her bail conditions, she is required to surrender her passport and I. D. And must report to the police station every day. Uh I don't know do you kind of go ahead and say let's just stay in the pokey? I mean I don't know I'm just asking the question there. Safety in a way never heard of before. The rated safety show on Safety is in. Uh so did you hear about this one? There's a new ocean. Yeah, I'm not joking here. There is a new ocean. The National Geographic Society declared this week that waters around in article will now be known as the Southern Ocean. The planet's Fifth ocean. Uh, nat geo National Geographic Category. Uh, hold on, ketrow forever's uh have listed for oceans on earth since the society began making maps in 1915. The atlantic pacific, indian and arctic oceans. But now you will have the Southern Ocean. So there you go, you can be smarter than your kids today. If you go over there and tell them how many oceans are there and when they tell you for, you can turn around and tell them that they're wrong. Anyways, let's bring johnny smalls from the john and Heidi show in and let him tell us about what's going on. According to the market minute, Here's your market beat minute for Thursday, 10, Today could be a make it or break it day for the equities market. The May reading of the Consumer Price index is due out and will seal the deal on whether or not the Federal Reserve has inflation under control. If the market doesn't like what it sees, equities could be in for a big tumble with the S and P. 500 trading 3% to 5% above firm support levels selling could last into friday. The market will also be paying close attention to the weekly jobless claims figures. The recent jolts reports suggest upwards of eight million job openings are currently available. This has led many to believe a massive round of hiring is imminent. The question is when if the S and P. 500 cannot fill those jobs, the economic recovery could be in peril, analysts are expecting the initial claims to fall below 400,000. That's the lowest level since the pandemic began. You can get the inside track from Wall Street's brightest minds delivered directly to your inbox every day at market beat minute dot com. Okay, thank you. Johnny Smalls for that one. Let's talk about this real quick stock market saw all major averages closed lower on Wednesday. As the dow slipped about 100 and 52 points, the NASDAQ dropped about 13 points, and the S. And P fell about seven points. It was the third straight losing session for the dow jones industrial average inflation data for the month of May is uh, to be released thursday, investors are hoping that the results do not cause the Federal Reserve to change the monetary policy and raise interest rates. The 10th and uh, the 10th Treasury bond yields fell about 1.5% on Wednesday. This was the lowest mark since March. So there you go. Some information, of course, not always good. But hey, we have to talk about it because that's what happened. Wisconsin, father of three, has set a new world record. Nate Carol completed a 1 1,500,000, push ups to set a new world record for most push ups done in a year. Wow. Uh, he broke the record of 50 years of the 50 yard line of met hold on at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey, in front of the first responders during the all time, 48 Annual Fund City Bowl. An annual showdown between new york fire and police football teams. Carol, who's, who's here? Hold on. Who's year isn't over until june 13th said that he wants the final total to be of push ups to feature the number 911 in honor of the 20th anniversary of september 11th attack. What's more is that he used the challenge to raise money for the families of the fallen 1st, 1st responders. I wonder if anybody committed to a dollar per push up because that would be kind of interesting. But holy crap dude, do you have like a time length in man? How store your arms after doing that? I mean that's that's think about that, that's push ups in a year. Crazy stuff. So let's just take a look at it. So I did say june the 13th is the breakdown here and I just pulled up the wrong thing. Uh, so if we're taking a look around at 1,500,231 and let's say that he did that for what? What we got four more days. So let's say he did it over 600 or 361 days. That's about Give or take 4155 push of a day a day. Yeah, he did say that in a day. Holy monkeys. How the heck do you pull that sucker off? So here's the thing. Um, great for him. Glad to see that he's really doing going out there, pushing it. So this next thing that I want to talk about, I'm not even sure if I can consider it a main story, but maybe we should consider it a main story. It's, it's kind of big, it's a big deal. I think it's a big deal. Let's hit it anyways, here is our main story on the right safety show. So I have to tell you, I I knew that this was going to happen. I haven't really been tracking it, but I think that it's time to talk about it. So a few years back at this point, it's probably about a couple of years at this point because you know, the pandemic occurred and kind of lost track of time. But we were already doing this ahead of time, but in not realizing it. I mean for a period of time when we started safety FM. Yes, the radio station and the podcast network. We talked about what you wanted to hear. We talked about what you wanted to do. And we always made sure that regardless of what we were doing, we were doing whatever you were looking for Good, bad or ugly. And I mean that in a good way, don't don't take it the wrong way. So we brought in several different show host, we brought in several different kind of shows and we wanted to make sure that they were they're readily available for you. I mean we finally got to the point that we had 20 shows And then now we're now we're down in 19 just because some jackass move. Um but that's fine. So now we're at 19 shows again. But when we were going back and forth trying to build this whole network of things, there was always something that came up and it was the conversation of having the show that we would be able to talk in real form where we would be able to talk with curse words and we would be able to talk in regards to our feelings and how some of the work that we do just plain sucks, let's be real. And we said, as we talked about the show that we would develop it and you're kind of hanging out with it. Now you are on the radar safety show. We didn't know what the hell we're going to call it in regards of what the audience feedback was. But we're here and we've been doing this and this show right here has probably become one of the shows that we do the most frequently because we're doing it monday through friday for the most part. Now keep in mind that one portion, it was a noon show and now it's become more of a morning show if you're in the US. But here's the thing, if you take a look at what we have going on today, This is the 366 episode. So this means that as of today, if you listen to one piece of content from the show from today and once a day for the next year, you would have a piece of content to listen to every single day. Now, I will tell you, I would have never expected to get to this, and I will also state which I've stated on, I think I've stated on one interview before. At one point, we even thought about combining this show with the safety FM show that it was called at the time and that was going to become the J ALLen show. But I kind of got to the point that I realized that so many people wanted this format on how we do this that I didn't want to skew what we had going on.
