You know, the people that hang out over there on that other side, join us on all major social media platforms and we are radio, Yes, we are broadcasting on radio big dot FM as well as we are doing some things, I have a problem with the light. I apologize right away. So you're gonna see me look down if you're hanging out on the stream, if you're not hanging on the stream, so that you're not seeing me look down, you're definitely hanging out on the radio or on the podcast. So let me kinda give the explanation of what we do here just in case if you're not familiar with the show. Um what we do on this show is we bring in some professional broadcasters, they talk about what's going on inside of the world of the news. Uh, and then I come and give you my spin on that stuff, and then we talk about the world of safety, the world of how I take a look at certain things, and how safety is all tied into the world of news all at the same time. Some people like it, some people hate it, some people mimic it. Um, and some people love it. So it all depends on what you're taking a look at here. Uh that is for sure. So as we start talking, we normally start talking about what is popular and what is trending because that's kind of always important as we go down these paths here, for sure. So let's start talking right away on what is going to be available on the video, on demand services as you're going to be taking a look over this weekend. So here we go. Taking it from the very top, New to Disney Plus is Ice Age, Dawn of the dinosaurs. Riah in the Last Dragon Us Again, X Men origins, Wolverine, new to HBO max. The Conjuring the devil made me do it. That's a good one, clueless. Are you clueless of the devil made you do? I don't know. Let's let's ignore that. New to you, You will be ramps and the new to netflix will be tripping with the, with the kid Assamese. I think it is an extreme. So there you go. Some things that you can get your eyes to gonder upon if you're so inclined to do so. Uh, coming this coming weekend are starting off into it. I don't know, this week has definitely felt like a weird one here. Um That's for sure by the way, it was for those who did realize that I wasn't here yesterday on thursday as we were coming out and doing some things, I ended up being um at a class with a good friend of mine um to about one, let me see about close to a little over midnight in the Eastern time zone. Um I was up in time for the show, just couldn't make it in time and some other things tied into. I do apologize about that sometimes, I kind of wonder when I take a look back and things like this happen if we should have that conversation of OK, so what do we do here? Uh do we talk about doing a pre record or do we look at it and go, uh let's not recorded, I don't know, I always ask 20 questions when it comes to that because I feel like I owe you. I always feel like I owe you. You know, we've been building this relationship for such a long period of time that I always hate when I'm not here and we don't get to hang out. So there you go. There's that real quick anyway, so let's get you started rolling and bowling into hanging out with my friends at Feature Story News. So we'll get them in, have them start talking and we'll go from there. Here is the news on the safety show from feature story news in Washington. I'm geography US. President Joe biden has issued an executive order banning americans from investing in certain chinese defense and surveillance companies. Our correspondent iris Spitzer has more. The executive order expands on one from Biden's predecessor donald trump by including companies with ties to china's surveillance sector. Initially it bars U. S. Entities from investing in 59 chinese firms and goes into effect on august 2nd, the U. S. Has strongly criticized china's treatment of its minority weaker population, which involves the use of technologies such as facial recognition, Washington is also concerned about china's ability to export surveillance technology. The United States has announced plans to distribute covid 19 vaccines overseas with the majority of the first dose is going to the international kovacs initiative. Allies including Canada Mexico, India and south Korea are also in line for vaccine shipments. Nick harper reports from Washington. By the end of June, the US. will ship 80 million shots overseas. For now. The White House is announcing where 25 million of them will be heading, with 75% being shared with kovacs, which aims to pass six million to latin America and the caribbean, seven million to south and southeast Asia and five million to africa. The U. S. Plans to send the remaining six million directly to some of its closest allies, including Canada Mexico, India and south Korea. The US said that it was not sharing the doses to secure favors or extract concessions. A nod to the biden administrations, criticism of Russia and china's overseas vaccine engagement. The UK has reduced the number of permitted foreign holiday destinations. Portugal has been taken off the so called green list that can be freely visited without the need for quarantine. The move has thrown many summer travel plans into chaos. As john beaver reports after the slow take off of foreign holidays last month, it's back down to earth with a bump. A review of the UK's traffic light system for travel leaves Iceland is the only foreign holiday destination with commercial flights that is willing to accept UK tourists. The government has defended the measures that only allows travel to countries with low coronavirus infection rates. Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said the move gives England the best chance of easing all restrictions next month as planned. But leading members of the transport industry have branded the system a total disaster and warned of job losses and business is failing. Thousands have booked holidays in Portugal after it was initially on the Green list, but it's moved to Amber means the government is advising to only travel there in exceptional circumstances and 10 days self isolation on return from bureaus worldwide. This is fSN with the spotlight. I'm Simon Marks taking another closer look at the situation in Israel, where a coalition of eight separate political parties says it's ready to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from power. But mr Netanyahu is urging right wing members of the coalition to drop out. Can the coalition succeed in winning a vote of confidence in the Israeli parliament at some point over the next 10 days. You're listening to the rated R safety show. Oh, so there you go. You know, the news never fails. It tends to cut out from time to time, so we do have to talk about it. So I do apologize about that one. So there you go, we are. Let's see. 13 minutes into the hour here so far. So there you go. Some fun stuff is, we're always going around and talking about some different things inside of the multiverse of what exactly is going on. Anyways, let's get you into some news in some information and start talking about some of that nonsense California man has died after falling 500 ft off Mount Russell. According to the saying Jose Mercury News. Yao Ming Jen was near the 14,000-foot summit when he lost his footing and fell. Another member of his climbing group tried to help him but ended up falling about 30 ft and was badly injured. A rescue helicopter took the injured climber to a local hospital to undergo surgery. Chen's body was recovered the following day. So there you go, some information there right away about some things that are going on um inside of that world. Um that's for sure, wow. I mean it's just crazy when you start thinking about all the different activities that we get to do and how some of them are at high risk. But you know that already, I mean it's not like I'm saying something you don't know, but we're talking about these things all the time, about different aspects and you know, we can always talk post accident about you could have done this that and the other but that's post I mean it's always about that matrix of hazards that we talk about. You know also known as the hazard matrix about things that you can do from time to time to make sure that those things are corrected. Um or some safeguards in place as we like to put them from time to time as we are talking about it. So I mean terrible news as we do share anyways. Just so you know the phone lines are open 866930 Sfm one. That's 866930 Sfm one. I've written a load of seeing lately a lot of text messaging. So if you want to do the text message, that's fine. We're also available on all social media platforms at the moment so you can message inside of the box. And so sometimes our box works. Sometimes it doesn't. I mean I'm I love just being honest about it because people are always like, well, um you didn't say anything about my message. Hold on. You didn't say anything about my message. Well, it's okay if I don't say anything about your message because sometimes when I don't, it just means that I didn't see it. Well, that changed my voice significantly and it's still there. So there you go. Some stuff going on for sure. Anyways we were talking last month about some things that crispy cream was doing. Um So let's talk about that. A little bit more crispy cream has given away more than 1.5 million donuts to vaccinated americans since launching the giveaway on March the 22nd. The company isn't stopping there. However, for the national doughnut day today, crispy cream will be giving a giving vaccinated people to doughnuts. Unvaccinated americans will be able to get one free doughnut in honor of national Donut Day. Uh but only one. So there you go. Um So what do you do in that case you do you bring your proof for vaccination and then go and stand in line again. I don't how do you even do that? Uh by the way, I don't know. Uh, so there's a crispy cream, it's not close, but there is one In my local general area, you probably have to go a good 15, 20 miles um, just to be able to get to it. But I will tell you the moment that that hot, fresh hot sign or whatever the hell it says um, is on you see the line always making the circles, I think that they know what the hell they're doing when it comes to marketing. Uh, so let's continue talking about some other things. A Brazilian superman impersonator was hit by a bus after attempting to stop it with his hands. Uh 22nd clip of the incident shows luis Rivero the Andrade 35 standing in the middle of the street while dressed as the iconic superhero. The camera pans to the bus speeding down the roadway towards luis who prepared to halt it with his bare hands. The stunt ended up with the man of still being sent flying as the blast plows into him, falling. The new viral stunt luis went to the bus company to make sure that the driver was not penalized over the incident. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love superheroes as much as the next person we can sit here and probably talk about batman all day and some of the villains that are there. But come on, how are you gonna figure that you're going to stand in front of a bus and you're gonna make it come to a stop? Uh just not a realistic approach when it comes to certain things, of course we want to make sure that the guy is fine, that's the important part and then of course the traumatic event that happened to the bus driver um in regards of how he has to process that after hitting the dude um with the bus. But hey, this is what happens when you when stunts go wrong. But we can talk about that all day of course because that's an easy thing to do. But I think you already know that this show is almost as enjoyable as hearing the sound of the toilet flush rated r safety show on safety. FM. Okay, so an inmate who was locked up in a police jail cell adjacent to jasmine. Hearten claims as a socialite smiled at him when he congratulated her on being the first lady to first lady to kill a cop. The man identified as Jose 48 who was locked up for breaching covid virus. Hold on coronavirus curve. You curfew told the reporter that he was happy about the news of the slain cop because he had once once accused him of using drugs and kicked him and kicked him off the island. Jose also said that he asked Harden if she did it to which she replied no. Uh, as previously reported hard in the change of the manslaughter by negligence and the death of the police officer Henry Germont, who was found dead in the water with a gunshot wound to his head. The pair were reportedly hanging out on appear when he was shot. We did talk about that on Wednesday. Um, just in case if you were wondering, we didn't go into some detail there about that particular story. It's always interesting to me when you start talking about death and investigations and all that kind of fun stuff. Um, it's just, it's just weird on some of the tech that's available when you start doing the investigation because it's just what you can do. I mean, we can start talking about analysis and profiling and all that kind of fun stuff. It's always interesting on what you kind of see on that back end of things. But you have to be kind of a nerd to really like it at least. That's what I think. And I only say that because I'm a big nerd when it comes to that stuff. Safety in a way. Never heard of before. The safety show on safety. FM. Okay, so there you go. A mom from michigan helped save three young girls from drowning. Elissa Dewit, who went to First Street Beach with her three young Children, told the local news outlet that she noticed the trio of girls uh wade out into the water and before she knew it, they were waving their arms, calling for help. Dewitt, who is also five months pregnant with her fourth child. Was able to run out onto the pier and rescue the girls. But not before almost falling into the water herself. A few times once those girls looked at me, looked at me. My watch is talking to me. Sorry about that. Once those girls looked at me with so much fear in their eyes that she told she told me that she was going to die. I promised her I wouldn't let that happen. She told the outlet. First responders showed up at the scene and gave everyone the all clear as you did. I would imagine. So good to see that they were able to survive. But think about that you have a hero there went out there of course were first responders helping. But also what what did it say? A five month pregnant young lady going out there and saving her Children. So that's always important. So congratulations that, that did not become a tragic event because that's always important as we are talking about this. Uh, so let's continue talking about some other things. The name Karen has plummeted and popularity among newborns. According to the Social Security administration. The name fell from number 660 on 2019 to number 831 for 2020. The dip of have hold on the dip may have something to do with the outrageous public act of so called Karen's over the past year. Worth noting the top three baby names were Olivia, Emma and Eva, respectively. For boys, they were liam Noah and Oliver in that order. No. Uh, that's interesting. And where's liam coming from? Is that kind of the popularity of Miley Cyrus's ex husband? Hey, I'm just throwing out there. Um, Some useless knowledge just in case if you wanted to know anyways, let's continue the need to annually booster uh Maybe unnecessary. As researchers Look into the lasting protections from the COVID-19 vaccine, crucial studies underway show that the body immune system is quite impressive at remembering the virus and being able to swing back into action if we re X. Or re exposed. According to paul, a fit, a vaccine specialist from philadelphia To uh to date over 62% of adults. Um adult population in the US. has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while over 40% have been fully vaccinated. Where do you fall inside of that category? And how do you take a look at this still? I mean as we are seeing some more and more information has come about um in regards of that, they're saying that if you're fully vaccinated you don't have to wear mask in both places. Um as you go about, you know, we did talk about this months ago if that would become a thing, I never really thought that it would, but essentially that it did become that. So it makes it a little bit more interesting as we're talking about it. But as you take a look at this, what do you think about this now? Have you decided to get vaccinated? That's one thing. And the number two, if you haven't, why haven't you decided to do that? Of course, there's the pros and cons depending on who you talk to of course, um when you start taking a look at that whole thing, but when it's all said and done, you have to do what is best for you. You know, we've talked about this over and over again and I'm sure we'll talk about this a few more 100 times as we do talk because the important part is you have to feel comfortable with what you're doing. Um, and of course we can have the vaccine discussion, you know, until we're blue in the face, One person saying it's the right thing, one person saying it's the wrong thing. But ultimately the decision is yours. And you know, I keep on hearing about this passport thing. You know, the vaccine passport of is it something that should be standard? How does it look like and all that kind of fun stuff. So it'll be interesting to see on how that ends up moving forward, because I will tell you the state, the glorious state that I live in. Um they've been talking about not having any kind of passport when it comes to it. And of course, you know, that's a that's a state thing going on right now. But I look at it and I go, okay, how far does that go? Because as of today, there was an or let me rephrase that yesterday there was a news story going around that they're trying to push an act that you don't even have the reported to T. S. A. In the local state here. So, I mean, that's something to think about. I mean, how does that end up working when it comes to boarding a plane and all that other kind of fun stuff. So, I don't know this stuff to talk about. Anyway, let's continue talking a little bit more here, prosecutors want to judge to throw the book at former police officer Derek Chauvin, according to new local docks, prosecutors are requesting a minimum sentence of 30 years, which they are argued is justified considering the circumstances of the case. Uh Derek's attorney has asked for the sentence to be on the low end of the spectrum, even suggesting his client get time served on probation for the murder in manslaughter convictions, sentencing is set for june the 25th. Something tells me there will be a lot more to come when it comes to all that information. No doubt in my mind whatsoever. Um as we are talking here, that is for sure. Okay, so let's continue talking a little bit more. The number of Americans seeking new unemployment benefits dropped below 400,000 for the first time since March of 2020. Initial workers filing for jobless claims hit 385,000 last week. A drop from the weeks prior total of 405,000, The Labour Department reported. While the number of claims continue to drop, it remained substantially higher than pre pandemic levels in 2019, the country was averaging just over 200,000 new claims per week. More than 15.4 million Americans are still on some form of government assistance. Now, it will be interesting as we get into the years here or into the next few months towards the end of the year, I should have said um in regards on how we're starting to see some of that because some states have some regulatory actions that they're doing that is making it more difficult for government assistance um in regards of being able to file for it and so on. And of course as we start seeing some of these things go away from how the covid aspect like the cares and all these different packages they've put together um in regards of helping people with government assistance on how they start going away on how that will actually work. It'll be interesting to see here over the next few months because here's the thing what we're going to have to continue to talk about is not so much the new jobless claims, it's the people that are still filing for government assistance now keep in mind that work has changed significantly over the last few months. And I mean that it was the best intentions as I do say that, but think about it big aspect for a moment as the things have managed to change, what else has happened if I can work from home, I can get away with a little bit more things now. And I mean that in a good way, but also you have to have the understanding of the technology to be able to qualify for those jobs. Some jobs, let's say for hospitality industry, they vanish for a long period of time and we still need to figure out when people are going to start feeling comfortable enough to start traveling again and going into going into public spaces where the hospitality industry would start going into. I know this is mostly a safety show, but we have to talk about it because it still deals with public safety. I mean think about that for a brief moment, but think about this in the grand scheme of things, when people start going up and opening back up and really going into places. We're starting to see that more and more now, which is a great thing. How is it going to be overall? I mean, we're already seeing mixed martial arts events packed out. We're already starting to see such stuff like the world of professional wrestling starting to open up, you're seeing some stuff like that. Um So I'm assuming you'll see more and more sporting events with no social distancing and I think, you know, it's going to have the very case by case and how the scenario set up. I mean right now the Connor McGregor Dustin Poirier Fight that is um scheduled for Las Vegas, not too far from the distance future for more. We're speaking out right now on the fourth of june, it is set to be already sold out and you are starting to see more and more concerts being readily available. So some things to think about that's for sure. As we are talking here anyways, let's continue to talk. I don't think that johnny Smalls has anything today um, in regards of the actual numbers, let me take a look, I lie to you. It's actually right here right now. Um, I wasn't here earlier, but let me get it to you right now. Let's bring johnny Smalls in real quick and let him tell us about the market minute and what's going on inside of the world of stocks? Here's your market beat minute for friday, june 4th 2021 stocks ended modestly lower thursday with the dow jones industrial average ending a five day winning streak. As investors awaited the release of the maid jobs report, the blue chip gage had dropped by more than 260 points at its session low before bouncing back to trade in positive territory. Consumer staples and utilities were the biggest gainers among 11 S and P 500 sectors. While consumer discretionary and tech weighed in on the broader market, with the NASDAQ slipping around 1% 80 P posted its closely watched report on private payroll changes for May early in the morning, which showed a better than expected. 978,000 jobs were added back last month versus the 650,000 expected. The Labor Department's report on new weekly unemployment claims showed the new filings broke below 400,000 for the first time since March of 2020. The nonfarm payroll report is out early friday and investors should have more clarity on the economic and market direction. You can get the inside track that market beat minute dot com. Okay, thank you johnny Smalls for that one. I actually thought the info wasn't there? So I owe you an apology anyways, That's john Smalls from john and Heidi. That actually does the afternoon show on radio big dot FM. Just in case there. Anyways, we are currently currently currently elite 30 minutes past the top of the hour. Let me give you a little bit more of information from my side stocks tumbled on Thursday as the Dow fell about 23 points, the NASDAQ dropped about 141 points and the S&P lost about 15 points. A Federal Reserve report released this week documented an increase in an economic growth as a foot traffic into the stores and restaurants is improving the same report, also issued warnings regarding supply chain disruption and the lack of participation in the workforce. So it's interesting to see that when you say lack of participation inside of the workforce. Now, I'm asking the question because I'm asking the question nothing based around it. So if you are in the hiring department, inside of your organization, are you seeing more applications come in or not so many? It's my question to you because here's the thing, depending on the industry, I have actually talked to some different people telling me that some of them have had some busy times and some of the people have not. And I just keep on looking at it and I go, it seems like there's a lot of people still looking for work, but almost by the way that it's worded it, sometimes some people say no, they're not. So I don't know. And of course that's a that's a blanket statement. But I also look at it in regards of what is the pay structure on some of these things, I mean, and the workforce is going to adapt. I mean, you keep on seeing all these weird things about people uh, doing signing bonuses, uh, doing an increase in pay, uh, in regards of not the typical, what do you want to say your minimum wage, A federal minimum wage. And they're really moving forward with some other things there. So that's some stuff to think about right away because that's going to be important right now. I think that's going to really drive a portion of the market, but according to what the stocks are saying, that doesn't seem to be the case. So some things to think about for sure anyways, let's continue talking now. Keep in mind it is free form friday. So we do talk a little bit about everything opposed to it just being out, here's this, here's that and here's the main story. So keep that in mind as we are hanging out here on this lovely friday. So I have to tell you what it being the holiday week because you are aware that monday was a holiday. That's kind of what happened here, Memorial Day Week. Um How does this messy up? Do you take the extended four days here? Um and make it kind of a full week type of thing where you're off or does your whole time to line get kind of jacked up when it's all said and done? I'm always kind of trying to figure those things out as we do talk you and I hanging out um in regards to talking about this. Anyway, let's give you some news of the world if you don't mind. China says that it has archived a new world record after scientists developed an artificial sun, the experimental advanced superconductor tom a Mac Taka Mac. Hold on to Kachemak, I don't even know, generated a plasma temperature of 120 million Celsius or 216 million Fahrenheit Fahrenheit for about 100 seconds before cracking things up to uh cranking things up to about 100 and 60 million Celsius or 28

So we get to hang out and do all kinds of fun stuff. We're broadcasting live from the safety FM studios in Orlando florida, so keep that in mind. But we're also broadcasting with our sister station.
