Hopefully you did have some good times during a cinco de mayo. Uh, that's for sure. Good morning already. Inside of there, Inside of the box. Good morning. Mr proposal. Well, you know, at that other place, you know, that other place that we hang out and do stuff with, you're infiltrating rio. So how did the festivities go yesterday? Did you partake in el cinco de Mayo? Did you eat up some tacos last night? Have some nachos, all that kind of fun stuff. Food festivity portion of the whole thing. I tell you, I normally celebrate by eating tacos, but then again, I can say that I celebrate that on a weekly basis, because they tend to have tacos as frequently as possible. Uh Not a lie there, That is definitely some truthful information. Uh So anyways, if you're not familiar with the show, that's kind of go through some of the things that we do here, we talk about the things that are trending. We go around and do some other things trending, bringing some news stories, bringing some professional broadcasters. They talk about what's going on. But we also tend to talk about what is trending currently according to the news, um or what's going on trending via social media. So today will be no different, but this one will be slightly um well, we'll say a little bit slightly interesting in this particular regard. So as you are aware, there is a full recall going in place or a potential full recall going in place uh for the governor of California. So there are some different candidates that are coming in. So right now, this probably should share portion of this with you Caitlyn Jenner has released her first campaign video to bid for California's next governor and I thought this might be slightly interesting to take a look at. So let's take a look at it famed olympic gold medalists, Kaitlin. It's literally true and you would for the governor of California, I've always been a dreamer. California was once the envy of the world. We had what everyone else wanted. The american dream grew up here, yet career politicians and their policies have destroyed that dream. It's been locked away, closed, shuttered, left in the dark, burned down. The government is now involved in every part of our lives. They've taken our money, our jobs and our freedom, California needs a disruptive, a compassionate disruptor. I came here with a dream 48 years ago to be the greatest athlete in the world. Now, I enter a different kind of race, arguably my most important one yet to save California, I want to carry the torch for the parents who had to balance work and their child's education for business owners who were forced to shut down. For pastors who are not able to be with their congregation, for the family who lost their home in a fire for an entire generation of students who lost a year of education this past year has redefined our career politicians as elitists and the people of California as the warriors, the kings and the angels. We never take kindly to glass ceilings here. Instead shatter them. Where the trail blazers, the innovator California is facing big hurdles. Now we need leaders who are unafraid to lead to new heights were unafraid to challenge and to change the status quo, I want to prove that it is absolutely possible if we only do it together, California, it's time to reopen our schools, reopen our businesses reopen the golden gates. So I don't care if you're a republican democrat. I'm running to be governor for all Californians to reclaim our true identity, to bring back the goal to the Golden state. Now is the time to achieve that summit to be the shining city on the hill and together we'll restore and renew the California dream. It's about what happens from here. It's not just about one person. It's about all of us. Yeah. So there you go. What do you think? It's the new, It's the newest release. Of course. That's been that's been circulating here. Uh, looks like it came out a couple of days ago. So there you go. Some information just in case you do not know what was going on. I don't normally try to go to politics inside of there. But uh, I thought that would be something worth sharing if you care to know what is going on inside of that neck of the woods. Anyways, let's bring you some stories from our friends and feature story news and we'll get that moving and grooving. Uh right now is the news on the safety show from feature story news in London. I'm Ali Bharat India has recorded more than 412,000 new COVID-19 cases in nearly 4000 deaths in the last 24 hours. No other country has seen a bigger daily surge since the pandemic started. Need to pony reports from New Delhi in the first six days of this month. India has already added more than two million cases to its total tally as the outbreak shows no signs of slowing down. Meanwhile the government has finally confirmed that the B 1617 double mutant variant first found in India, is linked to the current surge in cases. The government also says a third wave is inevitable and that it can't predict when it will hit India. The UK is sent to Royal Navy boats to protect Jersey in the Channel Islands from a french blockade. Prime Minister Boris johnson says Jersey has his unwavering support in the face of a threatened blockade by french boats, french fishermen claim their rights are being unfairly restricted and France has warned it could cut electricity to Jersey in the Channel Islands. In response, former UK naval officer chris parry says the british vessels are there as a precaution and to send a message they're really going to, first of all monitor the situation. And I think I also say, look, this is getting out of hand. What they're going to try and do is reduce tensions and say look, we've noticed it's got to a level now where we need to start talking seriously between civilised countries, Let's get back to the negotiating table. They've got form, I'm afraid with this sort of thing, if they don't like something locally in Normandy or Brittany or something like that, they always go blockade somebody or I think it's to do with local and national politics in France more than it is to do with the issue itself. Hong Kong democracy activist Joshua Wong has been sentenced to more time in prison for defying a police ban on a vigil to commemorate the crackdown on the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests. He's already behind bars for his role in two other anti government protests in 2019. Richard Kimber reports from Hong Kong 24 year old Joshua Wong pleaded guilty last week to taking part in the gathering along with three other district councillors. They've all received prison sentences with Wang is the longest at 10 months. That extends the jail time. He's already serving for his roles in other anti government protests and means he's now slated for release in November last year. Police band for the first time, an annual commemorative vigil to mark the anniversary of the crackdown on anti government protests in Beijing in 1989. Police said the mass gathering was a COVID-19 infection risk. Democracy activists accused the authorities of using the virus as an excuse to suppress the event. Organisers of the annual June four Vigil are vowing to continue gathering this year Despite the government having already announced it will not approve the plan over COVID-19 concerns millions of people across Britain are voting in local Merrill Scottish Welsh and by election polls, results will be expected over several days after polling stations closed at 10 p.m. Local time on thursday from bureaus worldwide. I don't know if it will or not. Anyway. So there you get a lot of interesting information. Good, good comments coming up inside of the box. Um, Yeah, I and the common to audio there of the governator. I don't know what's going to happen realistically remember there was, how many was it the last time? It would seem like there was tons of people that had actually ran for becoming governor back in the day. But that was a long time ago anyway. So let's talk about the things that are going on inside of the hit list. It is 12 minutes past the top of the hour. So let's talk about some things that we can enjoy together. A four year old from Brooklyn ordered nearly about $3,000 worth of sponge Bob Square pants popsicles from Amazon. The child named Noah had the 51 cases or 918 sweet treats sent to his odds home. The purchase caused predicament for his mom who studies social work at N. Y. U. And didn't know how she would pay off the bill In addition to the families, other expenses. Thanks to some kind hearted people and the magic of social media, the debt has been paid off and then some uh this isn't the first time that the eager child has gone on a spending spree last year. The six year old hold on. How did this happen again? Hold on. Four year old or this, hold on. This isn't the first time that a child has gone. Okay good. I thought it was the same child for a second there that a six year old listen to this. So last year a six year old from Connecticut amazed, uh Ended up spending over $16,000 in credit card charges on video game sonic forces. What The Hell? 16 Grand. How are these kids getting access to um to this mula? Does somebody have like the one click thing turned on? Maybe that's part of the problem. Anyway, let's continue talking. Dr Fauci loves his baseball references. In the recent interview, the dock tops the top doc said that the U. S. Is in the bottom six when it comes to covid 19 timeline. He also said the president joe biden's goal of 100 million vaccinations over the next 60 days is achievable. Uh, has previously reported. Not only is the goal achievable. Uh it is not um impressive as of the two million people who have already been poked daily or that are being poked daily. So there you go. I don't know. I don't I don't know. I don't now. It's so weird just listening to the whole thing about the vaccines. This would be realistic. It kind of goes depending on who you're talking to you. Some people love the idea. Some people don't like the idea. Some people want to wait. I mean and that's why we keep on talking guitar all about choices and the things that you want to do. I mean at least that's the way that it looks so far. I mean you have to kind of adapt to the role that you have going on right now. So anyways, as of Wednesday, over 249.5 million COVID vaccine have been administered nationwide. Over 107.3 million Americans have been fully vaccinated. While more than 148.5 million have received at least windows according to the CDC, the total number of coverage of cases and the US is 32 million with over 575,000 deaths attributed to the virus. So here's where Canada gets kinda kind of weird. So take a listen to this real quick. The C. D. C. Said yesterday the covid 19 tow on the U. S. Will fall sharply by the end of july. Okay so we got that while also warning of a substantial increase in hospitalizations and deaths if unvaccinated people do not follow basic precautions. I can understand where sometimes you get some mixed information when you start hearing some things. What do you think about that? So where are you standing with this and how is your workplace adapting to this new environment on how these things are actually coming about? Uh, That's the other portion to always think about because it plays a big factoid. Yeah, I think factoid you know, i it's supposed to be factor just in case. I don't hate me. You're listening to something. You're listening to the rated R safety show. Okay, so let's start talking about stocks. But that means that we have to bring our afternoon guy in to start with our afternoon guy on radio big dot FM to come in and tell you exactly what's going on. Here's your market beat minute for thursday May 6th 2021. The equities market rebounded Wednesday but is not out of the woods yet. The market responded favorably to a round of better than expected earnings reports as well as comments from Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen, walking back her statements from the day before Tuesday, she said the Fed may need to raise rates to combat an overheating economy Wednesday. She said the inflation was not a problem. Despite growing signs of inflation within the economy, investors are closely watching the employment data. This week, the ADP report was released on Wednesday and showed nearly 750,000 new jobs were created in april. While strong, the figure was below the consensus estimate and may foreshadow a weaker than expected. N. F. P. Report on friday. If the N. F. P. Is weaker than expected, the market may react favorably due to it's impact on the economic outlook, inflation and interest rates. You can get the inside track from Wall Street's brightest minds delivered directly to your inbox every day at market beat minute dot com. Okay, so there you go. Let's give you the flip side of this bad boy Here, stocks were mixed on Wednesday as the dow gained 97 points and the NASDAQ lost about 51 points and the S and P dipped nearly three points. The dow jones industrial average closed at 34,000, 230 points. A new record technology stocks took a step back during the session as a Treasury secretary hinted that interest rates may need to rise an effort to cool the uncle of the economy. That's kind of kind of some mixed overviews there. Uh, the ADP National Employment Report published data showing private payrolls, added jobs in april as john small just talked about the Labor Department Comprehensive Report before april is due out this week on friday, which he mentioned as well. So there you go. Some stuff going on there. For sure. If you are playing that portion of the conversation as we speak, you are listening to a radio God. What? This has to be an error. That host is not a radio God. Anyway, this is the rated R. Safety show on safety FM. So did you hear about this one? Eight Lions have tested positive for Covid 19 at India's Nehru Zoological Park. The center for cellular in molecule biology confirmed that four males and four females have contracted the virus. According to the zoo employees. A big cats displayed mild symptoms and are believed to have contracted the virus from caregivers. This is the first case of lions being tested for the virus, according to the new indian express. So there you go. I don't know. So speaking of India, the country set another record of day of daily coronavirus desks on Tuesday with over 3700. But experts fear that the number is 10 times higher than that. Uh, good question. Well, well uh Lions actually put on mask. Good question to ask. I don't know. Maybe we need to contact some people inside of India to find out that information. Listen at your own risk rated R. Safety show. Okay so let's continue talking. Did you hear about this when the U. S. Birth rate has fell? About 4% last year? The drop from the largest single year decrease in nearly a century. The data is based on the C. D. C. Report of more than 99% of birth certificates issued last year. The finding fell in line with recent analysis from the Associated Press that showed up. But the birth rate had dropped about 25 states during the coronavirus outbreak. That's kind of interesting. You would think that that would not be the case. But let's kind of get some more into this. Experts believe that the pandemic contributed to the decline for most, 2020 births would have been uh conceived before the pandemic began. So researchers are continued to examine the number worth noting the current generation is getting further away from having enough Children to replace itself. According to the report. This is an estimated rate of 1.6 kids per us, woman. There you go. So what do you think? I mean, it's kind of interesting. You would think that during the pandemic throwing this out here uh that there would have been probably more Children birth. I'm just saying, I mean, I guess it all depends on the segment of where it's actually coming from. Maybe that's a very bad, bad choice of words. We at safety FM are not responsible for what this idiot behind the microphone is saying he is trying to be entertaining. Rated R safety show. Okay, A 25 year old woman from mali who was expecting to give birth to an already overwhelming seven babies. Is shocked to find out why two more babies tucked in her womb during labor. Uh Halima cease from to my cave birth this week. To five boys and boys. Four girls via C section. Well, thank God. Uh let's see. Let's let's let's try not to butcher this. No new plates. No new plates. Uh Yeah. No number plates are extremely rare, with only three incidents recorded since 1971 Including the ones we're talking about or make the birth even more miraculous is the doctor estimated that each feed has faced more than 50 odds of being stillborn. Mom and babies are all doing where? According to the health minister, uh it is unclear whether it was in vitro fertilization or was involved in the pregnancy. I hope that that's the case. If not this guy and this female are definitely very, very fertile when it comes to the whole process here. Let's not joke around. You are listening to something, You're listening to the rated R safety show. So let's continue talking about some other things real quick. A man used his infant son as a human shield during a shootout with police in Mississippi earlier this week. The gentlemen are the person that you can't even call me gentlemen, 30 year old allegedly kidnapped a four month old After fatally shooting the baby's mother, Christian Parker 32 and her 26 year old nephew, Brandon Parker in Louisiana Smith was later spotted by officers and chase ensued. He exchanged gunfire with other with the officers holding the infant between himself and the officers. He died in the shootout and his son passed away the next morning. I don't get it. I don't get it. I don't get it. It does not make sense in my brain on how these things keep on occurring. But then again, we talk about gun violence on almost a daily basis on what we have going on. Anyways, let's continue talking. Peloton has announced a voluntary recall on the companies threat tread Plus and tread treadmills at the recommendation of the U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission yesterday. The recall comes after a devastating incident that a one year old child was killed in an accident involving a treadmill. There were also more than 40 incidents of small Children and pets being injured beneath the tread plus machines. The company is advising customers who are already own either one of the two products to immediately stop use and contact them for a full refund. So hold on, you're getting a full refund. Yes, I understand. There's been some deaths here. You're sending the sucker back. How old are these things? I guess that should have been part of the question of what? We should have asked their. How long have they been around? Because I mean, the only thing I knew of palatine. Uh let's just be realistic because you can definitely tell that I'm not the user of it. But the only thing that I knew about it is that they are a, I thought they were mostly like a cycling machine. I guess. I must be entirely wrong on this. So what is going on here with these treadmills? I know we had spoken briefly about it and I know that uh the ceo of the company was not too happy with some of the news reports about what was going on about what they were saying about how it was not safe. But man, does that make that pretty interesting on how that actually comes about? What do you think about it? Do you own a palatine or a peloton product? And if so, what do you think about it? I mean, I know there's some newscasters out there that that's all they talk about is how great their palatine is. What do you think? What did he just say? We had safety FM. Don't always agree with the viewpoints of our hosts and guests. Now, back to real safety talk on safety. FM. Okay, so four people are dead after a small plane crashed into the Mississippi home. Late Tuesday authorities have have not identified the victims nor stated whether they were on the plane or in the home. It is also on is not clear what the cause of the crash to occur. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident now, Have you heard about this one? It kind of makes it kind of interesting when you start thinking about all this stuff. Um, of course, when we start talking about it, you know, there's so many weird things that happen from time to time and this is one of these events that we can talk about once again that we go, okay. The possibility of something this of this happening are this, and the possibility of it having a huge occurrence is this. We also could title this thing a hazard matrix. You already know where I was going to go with that. So here's the thing. How do you plan for the unplanned Herbal? I mean, think about it real quick, think about it that you're hanging out at your house or your hanging out at your studio and all of a sudden wah la something like that happens, it's on planned. You definitely are going to not be able to do a lot of things there when you start thinking about it. I mean, what are you gonna do? It's not like you can make a run for the border all of a sudden because all of a sudden this is actually occurred. I mean, just think about it for a moment, the more that I look into some of these oddities and these one offs, what can you really do when you, when it comes to planning? I mean, I think that you could actually have the a very great safety protocols for how you run your house, you know, because some people do actually do that then. How all of a sudden is that going to work? I mean, you could not really plan for this all of a sudden when you hear that crash, I'm sure it's done relatively quick depending on the size of the home. Think about it for a moment. And then also depending on the size of the plane, it didn't say it was a Cessna and not picking on them, I'm just saying. But a lot of stuff to think about it. I mean, a lot of stuff to think about. I mean, just think about it for a moment. It's kind of interesting on how it all works out in the long run safety in a way. Never heard of before. The safety show on safety here is our main story on a rated R safety show. Okay, currently, 27 minutes past the top of the hour, we are hanging out on safety FM dot com and radio big dot FM. And let's talk about it because we tend to not talk about this. So if you are a safety pro and you are doing this kind of work and you do do this day in and day out or maybe even your inside of an organization where safety is something that's important and it has, does not have its own standalone apartment and you guys are actually thinking about having it as part of the culture. Let's talk about something real quick. Let's talk about that whole thing that often isn't spoken about, but it is the unknown. It is that thing that occurs that we don't have expectancies of what happens when nothing's happening is really what it boils down to what do you do when you go into work and nothing's going on? There is no incidents. There is no accidents. There is no one calling your phone, there is no one actually knocking on your door saying, hey, we need to look into X, Y and z and here's the thing, depending on what size of an organization you actually work in, it can actually change quite a bit of things. If you're in a smaller company, you kind of have a, some idea of what's going on and I'm talking very small on what's going on. But if you work in a larger company where you have different or multiple locations, this could become a little bit more intriguing. You know, I've always looked at safety to an extent, to an extent, as a maintenance department and let me kind of explain what I mean here, you know how when you go through the maintenance department and you kind of see the people that are hanging out there and they're chilling and you go, well that's kind of big that they're chilling because what you know is that everything is operating correctly, but also, you know, that they must have some kind of process in place on where they're going out from time to time and taking a look at some of the equipment that's going on out there to make sure that everything is stable and running. So that's where it gets kind of interesting as safety, personnel, organizational safety coaching, whatever you want to call it. There's so many different things. I really think that I'm getting kind of, I won't say tired of the of the term safety, but maybe it's maybe we start talking about it more of human performance or human and organizational performance and I'll explain that here in a bit, but think about this for a moment as you go out and about and you're not seeing anything or the unknown is occurring at that time. How do you go about and start thinking about what needs to be done. Now? We talk about safety, but here's the thing. When you kind of use that terminology, you have to understand that sometimes inside of an organization, if you're trying to change the culture, that might put some limitations on that particular side. So let's talk about it. If you bring in a safety consultant now, think about this for a moment. If you bring in a safety consultant that will do some limiting their because all of a sudden they're going to only associate you to a safety issue. Where on the other hand, if it's a human, an organizational performance issue or if it's a performance issue, then it becomes a different conversation, let's get off of that for a moment and let's continue talking about what's important at the moment. So as you're doing this and you're realizing that nothing is going on, what do you do? What do you fall back on when the unknown is going on inside of your organization? I think sometimes some people have a hard time with this and let me explain what I mean here, because when I will tell you when I have seen this inside of some organizations, when nothing is going on, sometimes people think that it's time to sit back and relax for a moment, not realizing that this is the time to start taking a look around on what might be going on. What is the unknown at that particular time? So the other portion that comes about immediately as we start talking about this is what is your default? What are the things that you fall back to immediately that you take a look at And you go, well, these are the things that I might have to use as my values. These might be the things that I have to actually use as my principles now, depending on where you're in in your journey, everything is slightly different. Now. You can have some core principles or you're gonna have some core values that you normally default to. But then again, you have to establish that knowledge base. Sometimes we do some things that we don't even realize because it's our natural tendencies of doing things and that's how we move forward inside of our organization's life and so on. But what do you look at when you do this now? Think about this for a moment now. Take a take a pause for the cause and think about this when nothing is going on, or the unknown is happening inside of your organization, or the unknown is happening inside of your life? What do you do? Are you taking your foot off the gas? Are you applying the brake? Are you putting are you putting the pedal to the metal? Yeah. You know what I'm saying there? There's some things that you have to think about when the unknown is occurring inside of your organization. What are you doing? And that's what I want you to truly think about today. Because here's the thing. We can talk about philosophies and concepts and all that fun stuff. And that's great to talk about depending on the day. But when you're talking about something so important as human lives, doesn't that become a different story? Is that something where you should be taking your foot off the pedal? I mean, think about it for a moment. Just give it a thought process of going through that whole thing. Think about a time that might have occurred where you have allowed things to become the portion of the unknown that nothing is happening or you at least perceive nothing is happening, then what is going on? That's the stuff that you should probably be thinking about today. The reason that I say this is because when you're not sure what's going to happen next, what do you default to? What are your core values? What are your core principles depending on where you're at in your journey? Do you have them? And if you don't, maybe it's time to start looking at what they should be. It should be your natural tendencies of what you do establish that knowledge base that you have because this way you can actually start going to what we will call at some point performance modes that would actually get you into the right path. Well, something to think about today, but if I told him to you once, I said it 1000 times. What do I know? I'm just a guy behind the microphone. What did he just say? We have safety FM. Don't always agree with the viewpoints of our hosts and guests. Now, back to real safety talk on safety. FM. Don't go anywhere. You're listening to the home of real safety talk. You are listening to safety FM. We'll be right back. Support for safety. FM is brought to you by Manscaped. Who is the best in men's below the waist grooming champions of the world. Manscape
