I'm ali Barrett Western countries continue to discuss what sanctions to potentially impose on belarus over the diversion of a plane to Minsk on sunday. EU leaders have agreed in principle to level sanctions, brussels has also banned Belarusian airlines from european airspace activist, roman protest. Ceviche was arrested in Minsk after the Ryan air flight was ordered to land on route to Lithuania. The US has issued an advisory recommending its citizens do not travel to Japan due to a surge of coronavirus cases with less than two months until the olympics. The announcement is fueling further concerns over the safety of the games. Phoebe amoroso reports from Tokyo. The US has raised its travel alert for Japan level for the highest level on its scale. The move comes as the Japanese government is debating extending the state of emergency, which is currently in place for temporary factors. A decision is expected by the end of this week. The rising coronavirus infections is adding to strong opposition over the olympic games which are scheduled to kick off on july the 23rd. However, the United States olympic and paralympic committee has downplayed the travel advisory saying they are fully confident in the virus counter measures put in place by the Tokyo organisers and that these would ensure athletes safe participation, Phoebe, amoroso, Tokyo India's posted its lowest daily rise in covid 19 infections since mid april, With 196,000 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, the country has been battling a massive second wave of infections, putting enormous strain on its health care system. Rebecca Braden reports. India's total number of covid 19 infections since the pandemic began is now close to 27 million. Official data shows making it the second worst affected country after the United States, new infections may be down compared to surges of more than 400,000 cases a day seen earlier this month, But medical experts are worried that India's COVID-19 figures may be far higher. The spread of the virus seems to be easing in major cities including Delhi and Mumbai where lockdowns are in place, but infections have spread rapidly through rural parts of the country where the healthcare infrastructure is much weaker. The UK government's being criticized over confusion about advice people should not travel to and from covid 19 India variant hotspots, it has emerged government guidance changed on friday for several english areas with outbreaks of the variant, but critics say that advice was not communicated widely to the public or even affected local authorities. Cabinet Minister Therese Coffey insists the government has been clear, the Prime Minister did say in areas particularly affected by the indian government, where we've seen an increase in the number of infections that people did need to take extra care. And the guidance simply formalizes that. I mean, we've been in constant contact with councils with local communities, this is just about formalizing the guidance on the website, but the message has been very clear from bureaus worldwide. This is FSN with the spotlight. I'm Simon Marks and we are continuing our inside look at the Gaza Strip today through the reporting of Matt Frei, the foreign affairs correspondent for Channel Four News in the UK. He was one of a handful of reporters permitted to enter over the weekend by the Israelis and he says that as soon as he arrived, he was immediately struck by the scale of the devastation. The streets that had been deserted during the shelling were absolutely thronged with people who were slightly dust covered in bleary eyed, who'd come out of their bunkers or their flats or their houses to just take a look at the destruction around them. They were relieved and some even jubilant debate survived, but also of course, deeply shot by yet another round of destruction. And some of the destruction bears no particular logic. So for instance, the biggest bookshop in Gaza was flattened. Then the Islamic Health Ministry uh, got a lot of down and that's the only place in Gaza that processes covid 19 test. So that's not taking place now. So there's a lot of questions here about the rhyme and the reason behind some of these airstrikes. And of course the others, you know, you can see the Israeli logic they want to take out. Hamas. Hamas doesn't recognize Israel Hamas was firing thousands of rockets against civilian populations. Visual there was a war going on and now there's a ceasefire and everyone is wondering what tomorrow the impact on Hamas branded a terrorist organization by Israel the US and europe, I'm Simon marks. And to recap the top stories, Western countries continue to discuss what sanctions to potentially impose on Belarus. The US has issued an advisory recommending citizens don't travel to Japan because of a surgeon coronavirus cases. India's posted its lowest daily rise in covid infection since mid april and the UK government's being criticized over confusion around advice that people should not travel to India variant hotspots in England. I'm just not sure if it's magical or not, but that's something to think about as we do move forward. So anyways, let's start talking a little bit more about some other things that are going on inside of the world of ours. Don't you love when you're stupid smart devices start going off in the middle of whatever the hell you have going on and then you're like, do I look or do I not look? And what happens is, well, my watch loses connection when I'm inside of this room. So that's what happened. Sorry about that. Uh, so anyways, we're broadcasting live from the safety FM studios just in case if you forgot it is 30 minutes past the top of the hour. So let's talk a little bit about the things that are going on inside of the world in the news because I always think that's important, especially because that's what our show is based around is exactly what is going on inside of the world of the news. Uh, so let's continue with that. So taking it from the very top of the list. Here we go. A two year old girl. Yes, A two year old girl is in critical condition after being shot by a three year old brother, her three year old brother. According to florida authorities. The shootings took place just before midnight on saturday when a three year old found a loaded gun, stuff between cushions in a couch. He started playing with it and accidentally shot his sister. Three men. Three men then home hold on. Three men in the home rushed the child to the hospital, but while en route got into a minor accident with another vehicle, a good samaritan stopped and brought the injured toddler um, to one of the men to the hospital after undergoing surgery. The child's listed is listed and exceptional. What exceptionally critical, what exceptionally critical never heard of that one before. Uh, so meanwhile, during the investigation into the shooting, officers discovered that the home was filled with marijuana. The homeowner not naming him was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and maintaining a house for drug use. It is not cleared if the Children lived at the home. So there you go, a lot of stuff to think about on that one as we are talking about it. So wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. That's that's a number. That's the number for sure. So there you go talking again about a little other things related to drugs. They say drugs or did I mean guns? Okay, so I made something there. So let's continue talking. As of monday over 286.8 covid vaccines have been administered nationwide. Over 100 and 30.6 million americans have been fully vaccinated. While more than 100 and 63.9 million have reached at least one dose according to the CDC. Worth noting the CDC announce that there's the 25 states and Washington D. C. Have fully vaccinated at least 50% of their adult population. Those states are Alaska, California, colorado Connecticut. Delaware hawaii Iowa, maine Maryland, massachusetts, michigan Minnesota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico uh new york Oregon, pennsylvania Rhode island, South Dakota Vermont Virginia Washington and Wisconsin. So there you go. A lot of states doing the vaccination stuff. So I'll take that as a good thing. Good morning. Mr puzzle. How are you? Hopefully everything's good at wherever you're located inside of this lovely planet. For the time being. Anyways, Nearly 30 elite athletes were entered in some fatally during a 62 mile ultra marathon race in china. The event known as, oh, let's butcher the name hung uh, uh, started out on saturday morning with sunny and mild temperatures. But by midday things took a turn for the worst. A freezing cold store moved in, catching runners off guard and ill prepared realizing the situation was turning deadly. Of 1200 person search party formed to locate and rescue the athletes. In total, 20 went runners died from the harsh weather and eight were hospitalized due with hypothermia, hypothermia. What do you think there? I mean, here's what we talk about all the time, is the unexpected stuff that it can occur. And, you know, you're gonna get me hazard matrix up here because that's what I love to talk about apparently, when it comes to this world of safety of ours. Uh, so, hazard matrix going on all the time as we are talking about it. So, I don't know, Very interesting things as we are talking this morning. Oh, you're in a shipyard Mr puzzle. That's cool, very cool, very cool stuff. Um, but here's the thing. So we talk about the unexpected events, but you know, you can't plan for everything. I mean, I guess you can attempt to, but it doesn't necessarily mean that it will happen. I mean, think about it for a moment as we are talking about this, a lot of stuff. A lot of stuff. For sure. Anyway, so, Mr proposal as we have you in the box this morning, um Anything new on the on the safety wars end that you would love to share? Of course blob a little bit of way about it, whatever you decided to talk about. But anyway, since we do move forward and we'll see if proposals responds back to that one. Let's talk to our friend uh john Smalls and let him tell us a little bit about what was going on with the market. Yeah, Here's your market beat minute for Tuesday, 25, The bulls came charging out of the gate monday and pushed the S. And P. 500 up more than 1.2% at the high of the day. The move may mean the market is priced in the impacts of rising inflation but there are still risks to the market. The nearest hurdle would come as soon as this friday when the personal income and spending data is released within the report is the Fed's preferred measure of inflation And it's likely to be hot. Based on the April read of CPI, investors should expect core consumer inflation to be up nearly 1% from the previous month, hotter than expected figure could result in another major market selloff. If the market confirms resistance at the recent all time high, there will be a danger of a near term reversal in price action. You can get the inside track from Wall Street's brightest minds delivered directly to your inbox every day at market beat minute dot com. Okay, well thank you very much, john Smalls for that one. So let's talk a little bit more real quick. And the information that we have on our end, a new trading week began on a positive note. As the dow added 100 and 86 points. The NASDAQ lifted about 100 and 90 and the S and P 500 gained about 41 points. The tech and communication sector was the top performer during the, during the session with twitter surging nearly 5% alphabet facebook and Microsoft each rose more than 2%. Virgin galactic soared a whopping 28% after completing the first human spaceflight over the weekend. So there you go. Some exciting times for sure. As you take a look at what's going on inside of the stock market, listen at your own risk rated r safety show. Okay, so there you go. Some interesting stuff for sure. As we do talk, move groove and all that kind of the fun jargon words that you can say. It's kind of funny that I say jargon words about that. I was talking to somebody yesterday and I stopped them every time that they would use some kind of like verb ege of jargon and boy did they get flustered quick during a phone call that I was experiencing yesterday just doing it to be a jerk because that's what I do sometimes, uh, close friend of mine so I can get away with that stuff. So let's talk real quick. Let's see what does, what does pose will have here a new episode later this week, working on a special program later in june. Ooh, I love how vague that was towards the end. There a special program in june are the other ones not special. That would be the question Anyways, just kidding. As I say that, let's joke, let's joke and move forward and talk about some other things. Let's talk about the glamorous state that mr polls was based out of new york new york public up new york city public schools will fully reopen this fall with no remote option for students. Mayor. Bill De Blasio made the announcement on monday after repeatedly declining to say if there will be a remote option for students this fall, you can't have full full recovery without full strike schools. Everyone back, sit back, sitting in those classrooms. Kids are learning again, he told reporters, So hold on, we're kids not learning last year. If they were remote, I mean, this is going to definitely knocked down the whole homeschooling market. Um, if you say something like that, what did he just say? We have safety. Don't always agree with the viewpoints of our hosts and guests. Now, back to real safety talk on safety. FM. Hey, I'm just saying, I am just saying the words there. Don't don't shoot the messenger. Think about it for a second if you turn around and say that you can only learn exactly from a classroom because there is not a remote option. What happens to kids that were homeschooled? I mean, that's another question to ask. Of course don't take it the wrong way, but something to think about. I don't know, I guess when I was younger, I did a lot of that self pace, self taught stuff. I mean, even though I went to a private school, you kind of were handed books and you kind of taught yourself and then you did these weird things. Um, some flag raising. Yes, I did say flag raising. If you had some questions or needed some answers with stuff. Whole other story, we can get into that another day. Uh, let's continue talking a little bit more here. Nearly three million people in Ohio have registered for the $1 million drawing Governor mike dewine announced earlier this month. Under the plan, residents ages 18 and older who have received at least one dose of Covid 19 vaccine will be eligible for the Ohio lottery with one name being drawn each week for five weeks. Also, more than 100,000 young Ohio winds have registered for the scholarship drawing. The first drawing will take place tomorrow evening. Hold on. I was born in Ohio. I didn't know this was an option. Can I apply for this still? I mean what the hell is going on here? So hold on. Is this really the gimmick you're selling for people to get the vaccine? At least have one dose of the vaccine For them to enter a Raffle. Because it is a version al itty of arrival of a raffle. Think about it even though they did say lotto for you to win $1 million. Oh, there's so many more questions than answers. That's for sure. We at safety FM are not responsible for what This idiot behind the microphone is saying he is trying to be entertaining rated ask. Okay, authorities in Nebraska continued to search for an 11 year old boy who went missing last week. Ryan Larson has been missing since he walked out of his elementary school on May the 17th during the changes in morning class. He was last seen on on business security cameras that afternoon. The boy is autistic and has has a history of hiding from authorities and his family is in the past but never this long. So hopefully something will come good. Come get out of it. Yes, I did say that. Um because that is a long period of time for someone to be gone. That's for sure. As we are talking here about some of the things that we are talking. So, some thoughts, some thoughts there on what is happening that is for sure. Support for safety. FM is brought to you by Manscaped. That lovely thing comes on. If you're actually on the video stream, that is the box, that is the car of the four point Oh yeah, exciting times there. Think about that. Anyway, so some other stuff. Let's talk about this. Uh I don't know that the coronavirus pandemic led a surge in eating disorders among teens and adults, jennifer wild and associate psychiatry professor and director of outpatient eating disorders program Out of the University of Chicago medicine noted a massive increase saying home patients are waiting for our our waiting 4-5 months to get treatment Minnesota-based treatment program. Reports that the the same surge saying daily calls from people seeking treatment have doubled since the beginning of the pandemic. Also, hospitalizations are among teen girls with severe complications from eating disorders, according to the National Association of Anxiety Diverse and associated disorders. Dr. Dave Little, a family physician said that parents need to be on high alert as the pandemic presented. So society and in particular, Delasin with very, very significant psychological challenges. It has disrupted a lot of people's lives in many ways and in maybe months or years before we see a all of the true impacts added. So there you go. Some things to think about real quick. I mean, think about it, think about how this whole thing has, what about as the has its we've moved on during the pandemic on how the impact has been, on how some of these things have changed. I mean, think about it. I will tell you, You know, people joked around with, Oh, I got the quarantine 15 and all that other horseshit. Um But think about it for a moment. Think about how some people's eating habits have changed. I will tell you I've probably gained the most weight that I've gained in a long period of time during this and this is because of my issues, not anybody else's issues. Um in regards of what I was doing during the pandemic. So some stuff to think about. So you have to think about some of the impact this has on other people as well as what was going on during this time. Anyway, let's continue talking. Some americans think they could survive two weeks in the wild. According to a recent survey conducted by one poll on behalf of avocado green mattress. 17% of responders say that they work very confident that they could start a fire with a flint with with a flint and 14% were just as confident that they could identify edible plants and berries. Meanwhile, 35% were able to correctly identify poison ivy. Yeah, that was after they were using it as uh toilet paper. The survey also found that two thirds of respondents developed a greater appreciation for nature over the past year, saying that it was the safest way to get out of the house during the pandemic. I totally agree with that. It is probably the safest way to get out during the pandemic. But do you know exactly what to do? That's the other question. So some things to think about at least inside of there anyways, let's talk a little bit more about some other things going on inside of the world real quick. Um Here we go. At least eight people were killed and 34 injured and the weekend shooting across Chicago. The youngest victim was 15 year old boy who was shot in the head while he stood in front on his front porch. She was pronounced dead at the hospital. The shooting occurred as the Chicago Police Department took more than 76 illegally possessed firearms off the street over the weekend. So, some stuff to think about as we are talking here about a lot of things going on inside of the world. I don't even know what to say half the time when it comes to that. Here we go. Let's get into the main, here is our main story on the right safety shows. Oh, so there you go. There you go. We talk about this ever show complex, complicated world of ours that we talk about and the things that we do and all that other lovely stuff. But man, has it been some interesting times as of late as we are talking about takeovers? Yes, takeovers. And let me explain. Have you ever been involved with a stand up meeting? A meeting that you're doing anything that you're sitting around talking about the world of safety? Yeah, I'm talking about that for a moment. So you're doing, you know, you're doing whatever, you're doing whatever, you know, you're, so let's say you're doing the traditional stand up meeting, you're talking about what's going on, and then there is the hostile takeover of the meeting. Okay. It can be non hostile. You can start off as a, as a simple conversation, but it becomes something entirely different than what it was originally intended. I mean, it's one of those things that we think about, we talk about and all that kind of fun stuff, but it ends up happening. So here's the interesting thing when those things happen. How do you handle the situation? How do you handle when you have the toolbox talk time? When you have the moment where you're supposed to be discussing x, y and Z and everything changes? It becomes an interesting time. Think about it for just a brief moment. If somebody jumps in and takes over. Yes, I did say takes over, what happens? How do you change it? I did that yesterday to um how do you change it? How do you put the focus back on what's important? So recently, a matter of fact about a week ago, I was sitting around with a group of people were sitting around talking, we're around a dinner table and where we're talking about how important was the things that were going on, messaging wise, in the side of the world of safety, we were talking about how important it is to change the world about what was going on inside of the world of safety because of some of this messaging that had not been informed associated represented. However, you want to put it however you want the wording to be. And during this conversation, this person stopped and said that they would have more leeway to be able to share this information because on how famous they are on social media. Yeah, I said that out loud. They stopped the whole meeting for they could talk about how many followers they have on social media because that was so important for what we were talking about in the conversation, it halted everything that we were going towards for them to talk about this, which I thought was pretty interesting about them stopping everything to say. Even though we're talking about people that were there in person about how important it was for the thousands, The 10s of thousands of followers that they have. And I thought it was pretty interesting in talking about this, that this was brought up because I turned around and inside of the conversation we're talking and I was like hold on, I don't get it, it doesn't make sense to me on how they were looking at this as being a portion that's important. Um because I always find social media interesting and we've talked about this before and I know that I'm kind of hypocritical when I say this because I am on a social media platform when we do the video aspect, we are also on safety FM plus just in case, but we are also on the Facebooks of the world, twitter linkedin, youtube, you name it were there. But the interesting part was the person halted the conversation to state this this, but I thought it was interesting because I brought up because recently HBO has released a a documentary that's called fake famous And how they took three people. We're just normal people just like you and I and all of a sudden they made them famous on social media, the people from the documentary, they got sponsorships and all this kind of weird things and they were essentially having bots make them famous. It was interesting because this person after I brought this up, slowly stood up and walked away from the table that we were at and jumped on their phone. It had no conversation about how famous they were anymore on social media. Shortly thereafter thought it was kind of a strange approach. But it was interesting all at the same time too because I take a look at this and I go, why is it that we do so much currency when it comes to people in social media that doesn't make you popular? That doesn't make you famous just because you have X, y and Z followers. And it is a weird word, followers. Listen, I want to be able to share messaging that is impactful. I will say my message in front of one person, I will save my measures in front of 10 people, 100 1000 10,000, you name it, will do it, but fake famous, serious. I mean, I don't know why didn't why was there a need of the hostile takeover? The conversation of I have this many followers, like is that important to get the messaging out? I don't know how do you handle the hostile takeovers when you're involved with some of this stuff? I mean, I would love to hear what happens inside of the traditional stand up meetings. I mean, you always know that you're going to have somebody who's going to voice their opinion. You always know that they're going to have the people that voice exactly what is going on from their point of view. And that happens. That's perfectly okay. Also, at the same time to you have to move forward with these conversations and say, Hey, it is your turn to speak. It is your turn to be involved inside of this, but make sure that it's on point. But then again, what do I know? Just a guy behind a microphone? I mean, I think I am. What did he just say? We have safety FN don't always agree with the viewpoints of our hosts and guests. Listen to our host of the rated R safety show. Self implode on our airwaves. Only on safety. FM. Hey, it's part of the convo look at this. I mean that's the box right there. That's that box. Now, back to real Safety talk on safety. FM. Don't go anywhere. You're listening to the home of real Safety talk. You are listening to safety. FM. We'll be right back. Today's quote has been submitted by Susan James baldwin said, love takes off the masks that we fear we cannot live without and we know we cannot live within. I use the word love here not merely in the personal sense, but as a state of being or a state of grace, not in the infantile american sense of being made happy but in the tough and universal sense of quest and daring and growth. Wow, that's a great quote. Thanks for submitting that Susan in this day and age when you talk about masks, people think of a literal mask. But in this quote, James is talking about a figurative mask that we hide behind when we're afraid to show who we really are. Hey, just be you. This has been today's motivation minute courtesy of better credit cards dot com. I'm john small thanks for listening.
